The chorus sums up the meaning of this song using creative imagery. Think about the rocket, it takes so much planning, effort, and meticulous calculations in terms of timing for it to travel to the moon. The moon, a place of wonder, romance and mystery from a distance. But when you get there, you soon realize it's an empty, desolate, cold rock. He keeps hitting up opportunities and many times they let him down. Eventually, you depressingly realize that some opportunities lead to no where, and it is best to try something else. It says if you really want someone you have the right to treat them as your possession and if they don't love you they deserve to be punished. That's a really twisted message. I've been hurt really bad in love but I know you can't own another person. They don't belong to you. If they want to walk away you should let them. You can't make somebody love you. Personally, I don't think the song has much to do with dating type of relationship. I think it has to do more with his addiction. We all know he's come clean and this album was a way for him to show it. The lyrics talk about him hurting because it's over. It talks about him trying to start over. I just think that the song sounds more powerful if it's about a man coming out of a deep addiction and showing he's stronger then that. Sure it may be written to sound like a relationship, but if you really think it sounds like a massive reference to his drugs. He has no strength without them. It's tearing him apart, so the only thing he can do now is come clean, break out of his shell. Just my two cents, I'd like to know if anyone agrees or disagrees with this and why.

Eminem recently premiered his latest video for the song -space bound.
The song, similar in melody to -love the way you lie, " expresses the rapper's heartbreak over a breakup with a girl he thought was his true love.
The video, directed by joseph kahn, is violent and graphic at times and splits eminem into two people: angry and mellow. The mellow, -lost puppy" eminem becomes heartbroken after he finds his girlfriend, played by ex-p*** star sasha grey, is cheating. His knowledge of her cheating girlfriend pushes him over the edge.
The once calm eminem is now angry and attempts to strangle his girlfriend to death. After throwing her to the ground, he finds she's no longer there. It is then he is unable to bare the situation and takes a gun and shoots himself. Both he and the alternate eminem, who never interfered with the situation, fall backwards.
The story gets a twist, however, when all the events rewind to the beginning of the video, bringing it to its conclusion.
What really happened? Was it all just in his head?
Grey, the love interest in the video, explained to mtv news that she believes the rapper was trying to demonstrate a realistic depiction of a relationship, surrounded in violence, gone wrong.
The video touches on the subject of domestic violence like -love the way you lie, " but this time there were deadly consequences.
"em simply becomes company for her, and she mistakenly takes advantage of that," she said of the damaged relationship between her character and eminem's character. "before each take, joseph [kahn] and i would talk a lot about her motives and attitude. Her ultimate moment doesn't come until the end, so i had plenty of time to build the fear! "
Grey says one version depicts the character as himself and the other as his subconscious, but she adds that you can -read into it a few different ways. "
Fans suggest the video is yet another interpretation of his tumultuous relationship with ex-wife kim mathers, but grey offers her own explanation for the ultimate message he's trying to convey.
"i don't know if it necessarily has a thorough message," she concluded. -but i think it shows that even the strongest of love meets destruction at some point. Whether or not you come out of it together and whole is an entirely different question. "

I think the meaning of space bound is when a guy is madly in love with a girl and the girl is not in love with the guy. But then it turns out she really is in love with him but he don't love her no more.
