Personally, I don't think the song has much to do with dating type of relationship. I think it has to do more with his addiction. We all know he's come clean and this album was a way for him to show it. The lyrics talk about him hurting because it's over. It talks about him trying to start over. I just think that the song sounds more powerful if it's about a man coming out of a deep addiction and showing he's stronger then that. Sure it may be written to sound like a relationship, but if you really think it sounds like a massive reference to his drugs. He has no strength without them. It's tearing him apart, so the only thing he can do now is come clean, break out of his shell. Just my two cents, I'd like to know if anyone agrees or disagrees with this and why.
