Jack Stauber – Oh Klahoma lyrics
[Intro]
Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah, yeah...
Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah, yeah...
Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah, yeah...
Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah! (yeah)

[Verse 1]
Set the phasers to rot
What has got you distraught?
It's negative attention at best
But call it nothing
Maybe it's something, a little bit, a little bit
Maybe it's something, do a little bit, a little bit

[Verse 2]
It's all about ascension, I guess
Don't put me to rest
Go on and hand me your clothes
(Ok, here you go)
Take a picture or two
(Two or three?)
I can see you
(Oh...)

[Chorus]
Tears falling down at the party
Saddest little baby in the room
Fears, tell me fears, don't get me started
I get a little grey hair for every scare you share

Those aren't meant to bend
No, those aren't meant to bend
Those aren't meant to bend
No, those aren't meant to bend

[Bridge]
I hear your eyes and I see those cries
I hear those eyes and I see those cries

I can't be the only one who hears you

[Chorus]
Tears falling down at the party
Saddest little baby in the room

Fears, tell me fears, don't get me started
I get a little grey hair for every scare you share
Those aren't meant to bend

No, those aren't meant to bend
Those aren't meant to bend
No, those aren't meant to bend
Tears falling down at the party
Saddest little baby in my eye
Fears, tell me fears, don't get me started
I might die

I could be wrong, but I've interpreted it as a person opening up to someone about being used for child pornography. My reasoning? Verse 1 is the person reflecting about a traumatic experience but is trying to brush it off or repress the memory because they don't want anyone to feel sorry for them or think they feel sorry for themself. Verse 2 the person thinks they can move beyond it by acknowledging the wrongdoing and remembers having to undress in front of a camera and feeling violated. The 1st and 2nd chorus explain that the person was literally crying at a party (perhaps referencing a child sex ring) and the cameraman/photographer is getting frustrated and is forcefully trying to pose the child for lewd pictures or video--hence "those aren't meant to bend". The "I might die line" either hints to suicidal thoughts or it represents the child fearing for their life at the time of the exploitation, molestation, or assault.

So, I just heard the song while reading the lyrics and what Alyssa Quinn is saying makes complete sense except I don't understand the first words into the song "Set the phasers to rot
What has got you distraught?" is it as if the victim's relatives see that he/she is looking different and more sad due to the situation of the phonography, then it says "its negative attention at best but call it nothing" as if the person taking the pictures is saying its alright and its normal, brainwashing the child even though he/she knows that it is bad but at the same time they believe what their saying and think its okay and normal so say nothing and keep their mouth shut, "maybe theirs something a little bit, a little bit x2" they(the victims) are doubting if they are thinking correctly or not. [Verse two] "It's all about ascension, I guess" they are starting to understand that it is not normal.

This song could be about a couple going to prom but they break up and have a really hard time. The man(singer) still loves the girl but she feels sexually harassed. The first verse is the singer a conversation he has with someone else about the situation and he says how bad he feels about it. The second verse is how he is thinking that he wants to take it to the next level (It's all about ascension.) and how he's scared she'll reject him. They get ready and then it skips to the end of the dance. The chorus is about how bad he feels about hurting her and wanting her back. It talks about how he felt strange when he first started to like her (those [feelings, as in the way he likes her] aren't meant to bend) He tries to comfort her but he is nervous because he still wants her to like him and he gets his words jumbled up. The second chorus is talking about how he is crushed that he failed in comforting her and he thinks about how he wants her back more and that it would kill him because he made her feel like that. (I don't know. I know it's a stretch but I'm trying to think of a meaning that doesn't include child rape.)

the music video paired with the lyrics has a very deep meaning. i believe that it is about a man dying and leaving his partner behind, and seeing her go through hard times and wanting to help her. unfortunately since he’s deceased he can do anything and eventually loses his memory of everything except that he’s waiting for his partner. he meets other ghosts and in time his partner dies as well. in the end of the video you see him watching a man hit three stakes into the ground, one for each of the ghosts seen throughout the video. it’s a beautiful song and i love it, the meaning makes it even more beautiful.

I think this is the song of a child pornographer instead of the child. He hates his job because he sees these children being so upset over it, and he knows it's bad. Hence why he's saying "I cant be the only one who hears you." He says this because he knows that the children are upset and traumatized, but he can't do anything about it. "It's all about ascension I guess." He can't quit his job because he needs a higher position than the one he has now, and he can't quit. "Those aren't meant to bend". He's talking about the children's mental state through this and that they shouldn't feel the way they do. Finally, the chorus is him seeing the children looking at the photos and hating them, so he hides them from the children. Idk its a theory and maybe I'm wrong, but thats what I got out of it.

I think this song represents anxiety, (tears falling down at the party) represents how the person gets reminded about the traumatizing events that happened which included a crowd of people (saddest little baby in the room) means people see the person as a crybaby, which is due to them crying during a party, which would normally be embarrassing, (fears, telling me fears don't get me started) represents how the person has numerous amount of fears and they don't want to start listing it all, ot says it at the end of the story and at the end it says (i might die), a thought that people with anxiety get, the person thinks they are gonna die because they think everything is hazardous and is too much in fear to do anything so they just cry, i also spotted an interesting part of the lyrics. (It's negative attention at best) is a terrible part of anxiety, the person would get unwanted attention and some negative such as being laughed at by a whole bunch of people, so "at it's best" would technically be its worst (what has got you distraught?) Means that people would ask them why they are acting distraught over such little things.

I completely agree win Mary_Agate, but maybe he (the writer) was one of the victims, and as said by Mary, he knows the children hate it but he cant do anything about it, it also may be about one of his (the writers) younger family members as a child that he cared for. This is still only a theory btw.
