Wow. I didn't take it as an abusive relationship. But that's pretty interesting interpetation and does make since. However I see it as her keeping her guards up since she was broken hearted before and afraid to do the whole love thing again. And then finally someone makes her fall again. And being I'm a lesbian. I take it-in the song- that there are others not agreeing with the relationship. However that's how I relate to this song.
