I think this song is about a child who was sexually abused by a man of god and has withdrawn his/herself from the christian religion because of his/her childhood expierance. If you belive in the christian faith then you know jesus forgave and jesus wasnt fair (in the sence that he always gave in and wasnt fair to himself). The molestor started feeling guilty and wanted redemption and instead the victim refuses to let the "man of god" be rid of his sin. Everytime the "theif of innosence" tries to forget the soul that he made lost, makes him relive it. That is my take on it, but however you choose to see it the song rocks!
