Youth Group – Forever Young lyrics
Let's dance in style let's dance for a while,
Heaven can wait we're only watching the skies,
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst,
Are you gonna drop the bomb or not?

Let us die young or let us live forever,
Don't have the power but we never say never,
Sitting in the sandpit life is a short trip,
Music's for the sad man

Can you imagine when this race is run,
Turn our golden faces into the sun,
Praising our leaders getting in tune,
The music's played by the mad man

Forever young, I wanna be forever young,
Do you really wanna live forever?
Forever forever
Forever young, I wanna be forever young,
Do you really wanna live forever?
Forever forever

Some are like water some are like the heat,
Some are the melodies some are the beat,
Sooner or later they'll all be gone,
Why don't they stay young?
It's hard to get old without a cause,
I don't want to perish like a fading voice,
Youth is like diamonds in the sun,
And diamonds are forever,
So many adventures couldn't happened today,
So many songs that we forgot to play,
So many dreams swinging out in the blue,
We let them come true
Forever young I wanna be forever young,
Do you really wanna live forever?
Forever, forever
Forever young, I wanna be forever young,
Do you really wanna live forever?
Forever, forever
Forever young, I wanna be forever young,
Do you really wanna live forever?
Forever, forever
Forever young, I wanna to be forever young
Do you really wanna live forever?
Forever, forever...

Forever Young is a song that's been covered by so many artists in so many ways it's almost impossible to imagine it as an individual song, and much easier to think about the themes and how it relates to the performer and the listener. JayZ covered it and made it about living as a young African American and dealing with constant threats in a world that's evolving faster than its culture is. This version, performed by Youth Group, is about peaceful protests against the Vietnamese war. The line "Are you gonna drop the bomb on us?" can refer to the feelings of civilians caught between two warring fronts, such as when the U.S. dropped endless bombs and drone strikes on civilians in the Middle East as part of the "War on Terror." However, it can also refer to the situation of being pushed down by "The Man." It's like when you feel so strongly about something but society says no, that's not right.

For me, this song really hits on how my fiancee and I have been together for six years, and how we keep growing and learning. How one second we're serious and focused, the next we're cuddling and tickling or playing games.

I think of my friend, Tom. He was my support system for a long time. He was so happy, so strong. He committed suicide when he was 15. I was 11 at the time, and it's been years but he's still who I think of and look forward to. He's forever young, and that's another way to see it.

    I guess it's all perspective.

This is seriously one of the meaningful songs written in my opinion. To alot of people these lyrics would mean nothing but to me they mean so much. The whole concept of how quickly life can end and how you should make the most of life never really made sense to me. I was always like. Life is the longest thing we've got. But when some one very close to me died it suddenly all made sense. They were still young enough to do so much with their life. And when they passed away all I had left were the memories.

This song isn't about living "forever young". It's explaining the cold war when Russia and America both had the power to obliterate each other with the push of a button. The ones without power were asking to "live forever", not to die "without a cause". It is important to people from the twentieth century especially as they were my age and praying that no one would push the button. The countries at war were not different. They wanted the best world to live in for their children. They spent years not killing off in wars but just assembling weapons and missiles which were set up as such that just that one button with all the power could obliterate the entire city.

Yah it's a good song pretty empathic and makes you think about a lot of thing sad and happy. I guess if anyone need to clear their mind or something like that they can probably refer to this and even use it to help themselves overall very supportive song and clears people's mind.

This song is such a painful song for me- I lost my best friend nearly 2 years ago to suicide and this is the last song they played at the end of her funeral. It just reminds me of that day- and how short life is, she was only 16 when she died. I guess that's why they chose this song.
I think its just talking about being apart of something and saying to live life to its fullest.

Its about staying young forever, like forever the beautiful innocent people we are before people can break us and change us into something ugly and guilty. But we can't stay young forever but life can only change us into what we let it. So I think they made some mistakes and when they relised it was wrong thye wished they could go back to the days they were innocent. We all do I guess.

Omg. I seriously love this song. It makes me cry so much. -.-
yes. I am only 13. : O so leave me alone. But I spend a lot of time with my family and its kinda smaller right now because of military purposes. And it makes me sad cause my cousin made a slide show about the old days and it has parts of videos in it. And it makes me so sad. She also used this song as the beggning intro. D:.

My meaning to forever young, is that.
All the memories I have with my friends and the times I remember with my old friends, my ex's
I'm young, we make mistakes, that's why I want too be forever young, cause wehen youre young, you beleive everything everyone says, everyone does,.
You have a innocence, that is so young-like. Its something that ill always remember all the times I spent the summer down at the beach, and when I move back too england, ill always have those memories with me, even when I die, ill go back to those memories of me being forever young!
