Thomas Brun – Magnet Girl lyrics
Magnet girl
Walk into the store to buy magnets, oh magnets, magnets.
I can't seem to find them anywhere, no, no, no.
I ask the girl behind the counter, does she have some, she says "no",
But she might in a couple of weeks, not before, no no no.
So I head upstairs to buy some dry erase board, with the sticky stuff on the back.
What do you know as I'm leaving the aisle, the magnet girl crosses my track
I know she sees me, but she doesn't let on, and I wonder what she's doing up here.
With her beautiful head of not-really-red hair, my impression of her still unclear.
She rounds the corner and escalates Chewing on her fingernail.
Her eyes glance up at a set of plastic plates that have just been put on sale.
She disappears beneath the floor that I'm still walking on.
She lingers in my head just a little while more, but I keep moving along
I pick up one last thing and start looking around to find the best way to get back down
To get checked out and hit the street, but stepping to the escalator who do I meet
It's my little magnet girl, there she stands, a set of chewed-up fingers on both her hands
I ask her if she's all done working for the day, says no she's off at seven
Then just walks away
A big heavy lump builds up in my throat, she disappears again and that's all she wrote.
Well I've been back by, but she wasn't there,
It's funny how I miss that not-really-red hair.
I've been back by, but she wasn't there, it's funny how I miss that not-really-red hair.
I've been back by, but she wasn't there, it's funny how I miss that not-really-red hair.
I've been back by, but she wasn't there, it's funny how I miss that not-really-red hair.
It's my little magnet girl
It's my little magnet girl, my little magnet girl.
Walk into the store to buy magnets, oh magnets, magnets.

It's my little magnet girl, my little magnet girl.
