Slipknot – Psychosocial lyrics
I did my time and I want out, so effusive
Fate, it doesn't cut, the soul is not so vibrant
The reckoning, the sickening
Back at you, subversion, pseudo-sacred with psycho virgin

Go drill your deserts, go dig you graves
Then fill your mouth with all the money you will save

Sinking in, getting smaller again
I'm done, it has begun, I'm not the only one

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial

Oh, there are cracks in the road we lay
But where the devil fell, the secrets have gone mad
This is nothing new but when we killed it all
Fate was all we had

Who needs another mess, we could start over
Just look me in the eyes and say I'm wrong
Now there's only emptiness
But a message to bring
I think we're done, I'm not the only one

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial

The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead
!

Fake and defenseless lie
(Psychosocial)
I tried to tell you first
(Psychosocial)
Your hurtful lies are givin out
(Psychosocial)

Can't stop the killing idea
(Psychosocial)
If it's hunting season

(Psychosocial)
Is this what you want?
(Psychosocial)
I'm not the only one

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead!

Hey glorious. I happen too absolutely love this song.
And I don't usually listen too heavy metal so shut your face and get over it that people are different then you.
Its not evil and its not satanic at all its just telling some sorta story exactly like all the other songs whether its rap, rock, metal, country, and even classical.
You have every right too express your opinion but you need too be careful cuz some people get offended by it.
    I know I did.

Hey Glorious, I think you offended a lot of people with your little rant. Apparently you don't understand that it is not music that causes kids to turn derranged and shoot up schools. There is no scientific evidence that shows a correlation between "devil's" music and increased aggression. Music does not create suicidal people that look for their next kill, they already exist. Scary thought isn't it.
The Columbine kids had planned there attack weeks before they actually did it, so how could it be the music if it only pumps people up for a very short period of time until the last of the adrenaline has flowed through the blood stream? What you're saying is that music has such a profound effect on people that it causes people to preplan a mass murder just from listening to a few songs. Give your head a shake! If life were like that then how come the 6 million people who have viewed this song on YouTube haven't gone out and slaughtered millions more? The Columbine kids obviously did not have good parenting if they were able to make pipe bombs in their bedrooms. Maybe that is one of the reasons why they did what they did. Maybe it was because they didn't fit in and no social structure was put in place to help them in their desperate times. Maybe it wouldn't have happened if American's had gun laws.
Heavy rock and metal produces a rush without using s* or drugs. It gives people a good feeling and that is why it is so popular.
Go away Glorious and take your opinion with you. You don't belong here. This is for maggots only.

Well, let's first start with the title. Psychosocial is the term used to refer to one in psychological development in and interaction with a social environment. Psychosocial support is an approach to victims of disaster, catastrophe, or violence to foster resilience of individuals and communities. Anyway, I believe this song is a realization that he or we have been stuck or even more dramatically forced into this social environment that we know as America, and we just wait on fate to fulfill our lives. But limbo is coming to an end whether we want it to or not. Mankind has experienced the fall and rise of evil many times in history, and it is happening only once again. Only this time at this intersection of "fate", it will take many lives with it. However, how much can the dead really do for us? Doesn't it make more sense to live diplomatically? Sure, some people only stop at death, but are they (the government) good judges of the conditions? We now step out to make a decision to change our futures, but what will we do because we've been lied to for so long? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure, I'm not the only one.

I got words for glorious and wtflolbbg.
Glorious sorry to inform you that ummm music does nothing its because those kids fucked up in the head because of our society. I watch the vids they had in almost everyone they said that they were doing this because of kids picking on there asses. You need to stop thinking music is the cause of murders and that this is "devil's music" its is just for people like me to enjoy and rock out. Its not like the music builds up rage and anger I lets me release it. So stop f*g think music is a crime. And everyone has a scapegoat for your dumb a* its music. F*k you your not welcome here.
Now for wtflolbbg you my friend need to get your facts straight they did listen to marilyn manson you dumb s*t I am not saying this because I think music is crime I am saying because you a f*g douchebag your the faggot to probably take up the butt by bubba and they did make them in both the garage and the room once again you f*g retarded your wrong and slipknot's mask are amzing.

Yes, some lyrics are wrong. "Go drill your gases", not teach classes. And it's "reign", not "rain". That creates a whole new meaning, not to mention the album version has 6 chants of "The limits of the dead". The returning Iraqi soldier unable to cope with society is high on the list of possible explanation, along with the claim of ill profited money, drilling gas, the reign will kill us all, etc. If anything, I would say it's about a returning Iraqi soldier that is going to re-enlist.

These lyircs are wrong it goes like this
"i did my time and I want out so effusive fade it doest cut, this soul is not so vibrant, the reckoning the sicking packing sub-version psuedo psycho virgin/ go drill your deserst go dig your graves then fill your mouth with all the money you will save/sinking in getting smaller again undone it has begun I'm not the only one/ and the reign will kill us all, we throw ourselves against the wall and no one else can see the preservation of the matyr in me/(6x) psychosoical/ oh there are cracks in the road we lay but where the temple fell the secrets have gone mad this is nothing new but when we kill it all hate is all we had/ now theres only emptyness venomus inspid I think were done I'm not the only one/ repeat the chours/ (3x) the limits of the dead/ fake anti facist lie, I tried to tell you but your purple hearts are giving out can't stop the killing idea if its hunting season is this what you want I'm not the only one/ (2x) chorus then (3x) the limits of the dead.

Firstly, psychosocial is the psycological aspects of solicialising.
With this in mind, psychosocial is about how, in our lives, we have people who are always there for us and some that are not. In this instance, it is focusing on thise who we think are people we can trust, but they just take.
I have been in such a situation where a "friend" bore at my self-esteem and confidence, to the point where I could not bring myself to like the person I am, nevermind love. She made me feel less than vermin and I let her. I martyred myself and the person I should have become because I believed her.
The bottom line is that this song is all about losing who you really are because some people hate the fact that you are a better person than they can ever be.

The Devil is not real? Well to say that would be to implicate that you actually know who the biblical devil is. It would be stupid to say that this band is satanic as that general term is a bad joke all together. The essence of evil is not an image of dark or horror themed montages like portrayed in the media as A christian I could give you a much deeper understanding of the actual devil. Slipknot nor Marlyn Manson are satanic and they are no more evil then anyone else in the world including my self. I definitely enjoy all types of music especially metal but often times I ask why so much image gets caught up in the mix up of music but the simple answer to that! The selling point is attention in order to get more peeps interested they dress up which is a very simple and intelligent choice it also helps group there fans together with the image in its self. I am not going to give you in depth info on the biblical devil but I will tell you this the current image you see that looks exactly like pan from greek mythology is the absolute stupidity of the catholic churches in effort to demonize other beliefs. Look up the word syncretism! If your going to blame anyone for problems in the world look no further then humanity that is a truth which also can be found in the bible.

Ahh, glorious, your just another shining example of what's wrong with American society, instead of blaming the people for there actions, or pointing the finger of blame where it is deserved, we try to find something we don't like and make it a scape goat. I mean seriously, people have been killing and raping and doing s*t like this since the dawn of man, must I remind you of the dark ages? Only difference is now, we try to find things to blame these acts on. How about instead of blaming media for what the columbine kids did we blame the kids who tormented them and picked on them and made their lives a living hell for years and drove them to do what they did. And, if for whatever reason you don't want to blame them, then how about blaming the people who actually did it? People need to realize, that just because something bad or terrible happens doesn't mean they can pick out something they don't like and try to blame it on that thing. It's stupid and I'm getting sick of it.
Oh, and no, this isn't the devil's music, because that would require the devil to be real, which he isn't.

These lyrics are wrong and I have to get to a min of 50 words so this next bit is just going to be extremely, very, long, boring, tiring drawn out words that have absolutely 100% of 0 meaning so if you do happen to read this then you are wasting your own time.

Hey Jargon, it wasn't guns that killed the Columbine kids, it was the messed up jerks that were using them. In the first recorded murder a rock was the murder weapon. And countries with gun laws have higher homicide rates. However, as far as your thoughts about music/psychological disorders, I think you've hit the nail on the head. Personally, I believe this song has a very deep spiritual meaning. I can't say for sure because I haven't spoken to the writer. I believe he ought to know what it's about. To the rest of y'all, mind your language. Just because people have different opinions doesn't mean we need to cuss out everyone and his mother.

Comparing bands is all waste of time, its better that we think what is our choice. This song is like traffic jam, all sorts killer sounds in it. Although a traffic jam is not killer but it really pisses me off. But in that case always listen to this one. It changes everything. The only thing which is never changed while listening to this one is gf she hates metal and I hate her. But why she loves me god knows that, but honestly I hate her when she say metal very bad.

Silverneo188 is definately the best choice.
I would just personally say its the american government/media (fill your mouth with all the money you will save, c'mon, its a geico referral) they're talking about, and that its ruining everything, that the president is 'psychosocial', aka retarded. And obviously corey taylor did his time and wants out.
Oh, and the 'killing/hunting season' thing, if its even close to the right lyrics, might be making fun of d*k cheney.

I feel the lyrics is about the mixture of religion and gevernment. Because the actual definition for "martyr" is someone who suffers or dies for the beliefs.
The Line "And the reign will kill us all" (yes reign is the correct one)
    is translated to
"And the supreme power will kill us all" which is a metaphor for no matter what we do in life we will always be ruled by someone higher than us (the government).
So putting it all together would be saying that the government is interfering with religion and people are suffering for it. Hence "The preservation of the martyr in me" line.

Dude, you sure those are right? I mean, in the song, if you listen close enough, it says undone. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that those lyrics are a little funny. It sounds more like martyr than moderate. But I don't know. And what is a moderate if a may ask. I know what it means, but how could you have a moderate inside you? It makes no sense whatsoever.

Wow, Mikeludkip, (dumb name by the way), quit being such a d-bag. If you knew anything about anything you would realize that what indraneel is saying is essentially identical to your dumbed down wikipedia definition. You are obviously one of those people who look at the first line of the definition in a dictionary and assume from then on that is what the word means. Words have depth you idiot so don't go around flashing your "knowledge" around just because you can use wikipedia.

This song is about military and the war on terror and dishonest governments and things like that. If you look at the actual lyrics given by slipknot. For those of you who actually bought the cd. Instead of this post which barely resembles the actual words, he mentions drilling deserts and purple hearts and alll that jazz. There aren't really any hidden meanings and the song is in no way satanic, as he never mentions the devil or anything religious for that matter. Where this post says "From where the devil fell," the actual line is "but where the temple fell." Could be religious. Could be white house. The bottom line is that this is a government driven song. And these lyrics are way off. If you want the actual words then buy the cd and support the band, rather than download all the stuff online. Have a great friggin day. -shizzle.

Hey, Glorius. Ur a f*g douche bag. Columbine was done because those 2 kids had issues, not just because they like this kind of music. Why don't you stick to your own p*y music. We listen to this because we like it, faggot. You can't tell us that we are going to commit suicide by listening to this. My friend is a huge Slipknot fan, and if he caught wind of what you said, he'd probably say some s*t to you. So go sing 'Now is the Time to Worship' with your other d*k sucking friends. Stick to what you belong, faggot.

It is from a victims perspective. Depressed he feels the despare of an unfair world, void of balance. His sacrifice of self is an attempt to bring attention to his feelings of despare. He knows his martyrdom will be recognized by those who feel the same, also realizing that the human condition is so diluted with self satisfaction, that all his effort was in vain. As the ones who identified with him will ultimately revert back to his pre death disposition, wanting to become the martyr of martyr's.

And with the "and the rain will kill us all" I think it should be reign that makes more sense think about it later on they are talking about the oil and the drilling in the middle east (Desert) I think it makes way more sense for reign, the only thing that would make sense with rain would be like pollution and acid rain with I don't think that care about.

The term psychological is an adjective meaning of or pertaining to psychology. It could also mean of, arising from or pertaining to the mind or emotions. It could be used to mean influencing or even intended to influence either the mind or emotions. It may also be used to mean of or being any of specific primary colours the mixture of which could subjectively be perceived as producing other colours.

Glorious, are you insinuating that music made kids kill a bunch of people? Get off the internet 'cause how deranged do you have to be to even think that a song with 'aggresive' lyrics made those kids go and get guns and shoot a bunch of people? With one click on google you could have figured out how heavy metal actually decrises anxiety for some and doesn't make them aggresive. I suggest you go and look into some of the studies that have been found accurate. Also... how many people listen to Slipknot? On youtube alone they have 8 milion subscribers? And when performing there are thousands of people from all around the world coming to experience their music. And not once has their concert led to a mass murdering. Get off the internet.

I think it means that we all have to share. It really is immature to keep everything to yourself. If I have a toy or a piece of fruit or something and the guy next to me doesn't then slipknot is telling me to share my stuff with that guy. For example, an etch-a-sketch has two wheels. It would be really obnoxious for me to use both wheels when the guy next to me has none. I should use one and the other guy should use one and we can make pictures together.

Lololol nub. Jargon, b4 you start bitchin at glorious and usin the faggot a* terms that slipknot made up like "maggot" get ur facts strait. The two boys didn't even listen to marilyn manson. Noob. Also, glorious, stfu. However, the boys did listen to rammstein which is kinda like slipknot but a lot more techno-ey. So uhh, ur both faggots. Slipknot has good songs, but the masks are just an annoying a*e-move attention grabber. And onikokudo. Why are you trolling you faggot a* d*k shitting piece of crap? Go f*k yo mother. Just look me in the eyes and say I'm wrong. Hells yeah for slipknot! Btw, don't bother replying to my message. I'm prolly not gonna read it.

Seriously, I'm trying not to offend people, but Slipknot have a bad influence. Appearently, their lyrics and songs hype up kids so much that they commit suicide or kill people and basically: it's the devil's music.
You call screaming, making yourself hoarse and then playing a couple notes to it music? No, music was meant to be enlightening, not making your mind go all crazy then focusing your anger on something. Music might let you get away from it, but this kind just feeds your hatred.
Must I say one word? Columbine. The two kids who shot their own classmates listened to music like this and in this genre (eg. Marilyn Manson) and took out their rage on innocent people.
I'm just saying, find some other music. And if you actually like this, your choice.
