I agree that the song is about a love interest, but I think the first verse talks about coming out of a depressed stage. Maybe because he finally met this girl. He says he will feel better and face the day. And I think when he says "buy back the words of my eulogy" makes me think that this is someone who always talked negatively about his life, but now that he had this "moment you can't forget", he is sort of taking it back. "i wish you'd open up to me, cause i wanna know you". Makes me think that it is a new love interest, and he wants to get to know her better, and he wants to know what she is thinking. Just my interpretation.

It is your Jubilee year when God finally pairs you with your ultimate soulmate. The person whose face was “etched” in your mind since the beginning of time for you. We all have one, and true love or aka Soul Mates are real. It’s in the cosmos. Written in every constellation. As for the eulogy, oh whee. It’s the day god passes judgment on all of those who have wronged tou. Not to “condem” because your own internal spirit will do that we are just here to remind all of those who do not take responsibility of their actions and only care to hurt others for fun. He is “Redeeming” himself from the “Beatdown”. Of “Life”. Once your Spirit comes back alive and you go from laying on the floor to getting retribution for those who “seek to destroy you”. Because they were jealous of you because you always were a good person. God favors his “good and kind hearted people” but unfortunately the “World” hates good people because they see how it brings you favor so they try to seek, kill, and destroy everything good you can ever get in life. Its A “Comeback song”. And well. When you choose to do good in the face of adversity no amount of darkness will hold you down. Cuz gods favore “Shinesdown” on you and you become A beacon set on A hill for all to see! Whoop praise god!
