Phantom Of The Opera – The Phantom Of The Opera lyrics
Christine:
In sleep he sang to me
In dreams he came
That voice which calls to me
And speaks my name
And do I dream again
For now I find
The Phantom of the Opera is there
Inside my mind

Phantom:
Sing once again with me
Our strange duet
My power over you
Grows stronger yet
And though you turn from me
To glance behind
The Phantom of the Opera is there
Inside your mind

Christine:
Those who have
seen your face
Draw back in fear
I am the mask you wear

Phantom:
It's me they hear

Both
:
My/your spirit and your/my voice
In one combined
The Phantom of the Opera is there
Inside your/my mind

Offstage:
He's there the Phantom of the Opera!

Phantom:
In all your fantasies
You always knew
That man and mystery

Christine:
Were both in you

Both:
And in this labyrinth
Where night is blind

The Phantom of the Opera is there
Inside your/my mind

Christine:
He's there, the Phantom of the Opera!
(Vocalizing)

Phantom:
Sing, my angel of music!

Christine:
(Vocalizing higher)

Phantom:
Sing for me!

Christine:
(Vocalizing higher)

Phantom:
Sing my angel of music!

Christine:
(Sings higher)

Phantom:
SING FOR ME!

Phantom:
I have brought you
To the seat of sweet music's throne
To this kingdom where all must pay homage to music

Music.
You have come here
For one purpose and one alone

Since the moment I first heard you sing
I have needed you with me to serve me
To sing for my music

I had a guy friend like this. Dark, obsessive, brilliant. Caring in a possessive, powerful, threatening way. Introverted, devoted, creative, and isolating. It took years to escape his insistence on us being together. I don't think anyone has ever been so focused on me before or since, but I felt so free once he finally let me go, once I made a stand and stuck with it, and now I can finally get to know other guys. I'm sure christine missed being so completely owned and believed in, at times, and maybe was sad that she had to reject him, but she discovered her own power through resisting his.

Wfc: the song is yourself speaking to yourself. Phantom is your spirit influenced by death, chistine (christ-ine) is the battle for life, against the spirit of death. Your mind is yourself singing to your body and others, hearing what you're telling yourself. Plain as day it says: "my/your spirit and my/your voice' in one combined. The phantom of the opera is here/there, inside your/my mind. " as you grow stronger against evil, it grows stronger against you, undefeatable until the love of god frees one. Christine will later ask god to allow her to love phantom, where he finally leaves, out of love. In geek mythology this is nemisis, your best friend, worst enemy. In religion this is satan and death, and christ and life.

I never saw/read/heard the phantom of the opera but I think its like. The hunchback of notre dame. Beautiful girl and the ugly guy and no one likes the guy so he hides but the girl craves mystery and adventure and that's what the phantom has. She isn't scared of him so they get together he does the creepy stalker bit, then she falls for him and she shares his ideas and tells others "my/your spirit and my/your voice,in one combined. "

I would definitely be on the side of gerard butler, but in the original novel the phantom's face resembled a living corpse and the mask covered it almost entirely. The movie is a sad adaptation because you want it to end differently with christine staying but it has to remain somewhat true to the real story where the phantom was devious and manipulative in a creepy way, not a romantic one.

I really like this show. It is one of my favorite even though i do not like opera music. I don't know how but it was amazing. When i went to see it, I knew it was going to be great but it was amazing. I suggest if you may want to see it go it, it probably will be worth it. The three shows i saw by Andrew Lloyd Webber, i really loved. Cats, School of Rock and this. Cats was also really good. School of Rock was great. If i had to choose one and one only to see again, i wouldn't be able to decide.
