Its about their former bass player Justin sane (justin meacham I think) suffered from depression, and wrote this suicide note. He tried killing himself with cough syrup, and failed to do so. Part 2 is about why he shouldnt have done it. And what it would of been like without it.
He spent about 3 months in a mental institution. "when he got out is was like he was always on acid"-m shadows. It was to the point where the band just couldn't take it anymore. So Justin had to go.

This song has honestly saved my life. I went through a huge drinking binge of sailor jerry's and spiced rum in general. Each night I would have a half a bottle or more by myself and I couldn't start my day without it. When I heard this song from a buddy of mine who was worried about me I listened to it over and over. This is gonna sound strange and a little irrational but if it wasn't for waken the fallen. I prolly wouldn't be here now. Thx a7x!

A very song about a7x's first bassist. And I like how they put a 5min silence on the end of it in memory of him.
In my opinion you should never judge a7x by reading their bio's, because it says stuff about M. Shadows being really violent and worshiping the devil etc. And about the rev getting expelled from 2 schools and constantly getting arrested. If you just read that then you'd think they just a bunch careless dicks. But this song proves that wrong.
