"Back in Black" very simply is a tribute to the late AC/DC vocalist Ronald "Bon" Scott, who died in early 1980 due to pulmonary aspiration. Bon had been working on ideas for the album but he never put any lyrics to the music that the Young brothers had composed. When Bon does, all ideas for the album were tossed and they started fresh. The phrase "Back in Black" represents the band's return from a very dark time. The song is NOT about financial trouble, NOT about a black t-shirt (I'm sorry but that idea is ludicrous), and Bon did NOT write the song (again, who would write a tribute for themselves?) The lyrics that say "I got nine lives, cats eyes, abusing everyone of them and running wild" is a reference to Bon. He was the life of the party, he drank non stop, and he recovered from many of his incidents, hence the meaning of abusing his nine lives. The album cover, black as a memorial, so to speak, to Bon. The Youngs gave told Brian to write whatever came to mind, and the result was the ultimate tribute to the rocker, roller, problem child, vocalist Bon Scott. Many of the other songs are tribute too, the ringing, ominous Hells Bell that opens the album and the song "Have a Drink On Me" and of course "Back in Black" Don't let anyone tell you different about the meaning of this song... believe me, I'm and AC/DC fan of the highest degree. Hope someone is satisfied in knowing that this is the true meaning of the song.

This song is not what many people think - it has nothing to do with bon scott death but rather with a situation when someone's got his financial situation fixed: when you owe to the bank your financial report comes to you printed in red and once you get rid of the debt and money flow to your back account - the report is black again.
The previous ac/dc album was a huge success which obviously fixed the band members financial situation. The line: "back in the back of a cadillac / number one with a bullet, i'm a power pack" - speaks for itself - the "bullet" was a slang term for a round dot which marked the fastest position gain in the billboard chart, and "getting a bullet" meant for any musician to become a top selling act overnight.
There are rumors that the lyrics were written by bon scott as the rehearsals for the album began before his death - well, I think it's true as brian johnson has never written anything like this again.

This song was intended to be Bon Scotts Back in Black (Bon Scott was actually the second singer for ac/Dc but he was the singer that got them famous), Bon wrote most of ac/Dc's songs. Bon had struggled with depression and he was a huge rebel. He had a very bad reputation for starting fights and destruction of preperty and a bit of rioting. He was most definitely a crowd mover. Bon had actually written this song but he died before they could refine the sound and make an official recording of it. That's when Brian Johnson came in and became their new singer. Back in Black was and still is their most famous album. Amazing song and album!

Some of these posts are just way off. This song is a tribute to Bon Scott. It was written by Brian Johnson. Bon never got a chance to write any lyrics for the album. Brian was brought in and had to write and record his own vocals to go with music already written. Please do research before posting. These facts are well known, as stated by the band members themselves and in other official biographical material.

This song was a tribute to one of the band members that was killed in a car crash. That is why they say that there "Back in Black: becasuse when someone dies you were black. When they played this song at the tribute concert they performed all dressed in black. Hense the song name "Back in Black. If you go to google and serch the histor of this song it will explane in greater detaile. This song has nothing to do with the band being happy or him wearing his favorit black shirt.

"Number One with a bullet, I'm a power pack"? What the heck is he saying. I wish I could come up with a meaning for this song. As it is one of my favorites musically. But cheeeze. I'm stumped.
As for the rest of the song, I'm pretty sure he is just happy to be wearing his favorite black t-shirt. Maybe he just did his laundry after a long tour or vacation. Hopefully he used that color retaining detergent. Otherwise, it's probably more of a grayish color than true black.

Back in black is not the song that everyone thinks it is. It is actually a very sad tragic story about a man who used to be white and supreme, his name was. Tommy tucker.
Tommy tucker was walking home from school one day when he noticed a poor beggar negro. He was kind enough to lend a few dollars so that the negro could go buy some crack.
But this wasnt a friendly negro, he grabbed tommy and took him to his hideout on mount montantonabayawankanowski.
Tommy opened his eyes and say 27 mean looking negros.
The gangraped the hell out of him and gave him a bath in their negro juice/semen.
Tommy later arrived back at home and said. "ma, im back in black. "
