My daughter was diagnosed with a mental illness at age 17. She was seing a counsellor once a week. She was encouraged and helped by that counsellor to leave home and become independent of her family. For 6 months I had no contact with her and was in total despair as I found out from her friends that she was continuously being hospitalised for suicide attempts. This was something she had not attempted whilst in my care. Everytime I heard this song I would cry and blame myself for not being able to hold onto her. I prayed day and night to our Lord Jesus Christ to protect her and help her come back to her family who missed her and loved her so much. Our prayers were answered and she can now see that some of the decisions she made along with the counsellor were not in her best interest. We now have a loving and strong relationship. She knows that this song is special and now we both cry together when we hear it. She still has a long way to go but at least now she is being supported by the people who love her the most not the people who know it all.
