The meaning of this song is to kind of help people through a rough time. In the song Shawn says "so take my hand and we'll be alright," in those lyrics he is reassuring the girl in the song that he can help her through it. The song talks about how the girl lost someone or something and is trying to get through it. In the lyrics Shawn is helping her through it and she is saying how she won't let it get in her way. When she says this it says that she would use no help and she would be alright. I think when Shawn wrote this he was putting himself in this kind of situation to make a song that will help out anyone it relates to.
