Viva la Vida and this song run in tandem - they are instrumentally together on the album. What a lot of people forget is the deep and fundamental part war and religion (together) has played in Europe's history. The Thirty Years War is a great example. I think this is Coldplay's way of poetically and ironically combining religion and war as has hapened into great songs! You must have the two songs as a pair. Remember that!
