This song is about a guy who broke up with his girlfriend, he left her cause he took her for granted and didn't realise until it was too late.
He mistreated her during their relationship and he regrets it all, he wishes he could take it back but he is unable to, as its too late.
He's chasing after her still, contemplating the what if's. It keeps him up, night after night. Constantly thinking about it, but you can't change the past.
With all the girls he's been with to replace her. There's no one like her. He can't find another, and he's going to regret it forever.
