I think this song is bout how this person can't be who they truly are for other people "no one gets to come in". I also think that it is saying that they want to show who they truly are to the one they love, but it's a little scary. It is also saying that they need someone else to help them see "colors" again, that they can't do it alone "pull me out from inside". I don't know, but this is what it means to me.
