It feels like this song is about broken trust. Not just in a romantic relationship but in a relationship. The other person keeps on extending his own but the other person is not receptive. And when the person who extends himself has left or has passed, the other one was left all by himself with no one to go to.

for me Summergirl speaks of his love for this certain woman who passed. they may not really be in the relationship but the love is all there. death in the family is really hard, you may move forward but you will never really get through it. even if you have expected it due to age or disease, it still rips you apart.
I really love how Myles's voice is full of emotions and he never hides it. this song from his old band is great. wish they can re-release it.
