This song is more than people make of it. Anthony used to struggle with heroin addict. And I don't know if any of you have ever been in the game but its a hard one to play. So hard that why is it that you barely ever hear of any one shooting up and not ever going back to it whether its years what ever they still go back. Unless they are dead. Well the fact that his addiction was made clear, meaning he was caught in the act years and years ago makes it obvious it got bad enough to the point where it had taken over his soul and frame of mind. Once you have tried heroin its hard to ever feel true happiness ever again. You live ur life based on the desire to chase that high. Believe me I know what I'm talking about. I began using heroin in march of 2010 I was shooting up by fathers day. It got bad. No one even found out, besides my using friends obviously. But mutal friends of mine an dmy usin friends had no iddea, family, no one. When it gets bad enough you can't hiddee it any more because theeres so much evidence you become stone hearted when your at a certain point in your high. And you just don't care. All you feel is happy, amazing, great. All that other bull s*t just leaves. Of course you stash ur s*t but the track markss get worse andworse but little ones wont stop you when you want to get ur fix. Nothing will stop you. My fiance just passed away he couldn't stop using. He overdosed. I would constantly play this song for him when I wanted him to quit more than ever when I would. Amagine me singing this to him, or anthony singing this to someone close to him that he cares about that's using heroin. It makes complete sense to me. "they say what doesnt kill the soul will make it harder,but u cant be a stone hearted man" Heroin kills the soul. Replaceing your emotions with that high that makes up for every other feeling. What doesn't kill the soul you will be miserable, with every emotion your not used to feeling, or even just the desire to be happy because youcant unless your high. "this isnt just a waste of time,addctions made me smarter,but you cant be high all the time" Maybe hes hinting he uses on occasion, but to use eccessivily is a completly different story. He doesn't want to go back to that life. Feeling ina cage. Emotional with drawls are one thing but to be confined to a bed is another. And addctions make you hella smarter for sure. I got street smart quick as hell. I went from stealingg change just to get a pack of cigarettes every day to coming up with 60-170 dollars daily with no problem. Just with one stop, then a second to the dope man. Because without a car, you got to bug people and call them for rides no one wants to go thru the bullshit. "this isnt jsut a waste of time, they made me smarter" Well being clean, even just using every once in awhile. Is very hard. But being abstinent for any amount of time longer than 2 weeks takes so much self control. You learn so much about your selff and the human mind. And like I said so street smart. You scam, get better with directions, betteer people skills havin to deal with the people in the ghettos, the cops, hiding s*t, passing drug test. * I currently am clean I just got out of rehab and am doing pretty good. Just been drinking ahhh lot. But heyyy theres nothing wrong with that.
