The meaning to this song is about this couple who is dating but Keyshia has been torn b4 so she don't know how to be loved back. So its hard for her to determine whether this guy is actually digging her or just want to leave. And Anthony is telling her that he is not like the other that he's willing to rebuild on her tarnish love and work it out.

This song is an analogy to a person who has had a hard knock life and in the end it grew up and out of it all. It grew when all else around him fall while also trying to pull him down be it, the law and even family & friends. It grew from concrete. So the rose is that prevailing person and the concrete is the struggle that it went through and came up out of.
