It's apart of the murder trilogy - leave the bourbon on the shelf, midnight show and jwafom. His girlfriend left him, he got drunk, hence the bourbon and drives to her house, he assaults her and then puts her in the backseat of his car (midnight show) he holds then drowns her in the sea and the night sky is the chandelier he speaks of, in 'jenny' he has been caught by the police and is being questioned and he says that he and jenny 'had a fight on the promenade out in the rain' he then says 'she said she loved me but she had somewhere to go' he probably took that as her going to see her fancy man so he killed her but tells the cops that 'she couldn't scream while I held her close' hoping.
