That meaning makes a lot of sense, but I think if this is the true meaning behind the song- Robbie is being really confusing and very pompous. I'm a strong Christian and I didn't even understand the song, so how will anyone else? On the surface it sounds like he's being a hypocrite and quite arrogant and it says to me 'Jesus died for me, but not for you', which is not the Christian message. If he's going to sing about Jesus he needs to be a little less cryptic and more loving!
