I think the meaning is that this girl is reminiscing about her first love. They're broken apart, though they've made great memories together. No matter how much time passes, she will always still love her first love the most. She wants him back with her and doesn't want him to keep pushing her away. She dreams about him, and can only be with him in her dreams. She regrets letting him go so easily and wishes she could have done something better to fix this breakup/problem. She wants him back very badly and can't seem to stop thinking about him so, she constantly reminisces and dreams about him.
