To me, this song is about loving and being loved, not being alone. I have been a fan of Paul Anka since his first song, have been a singer myself, find that this one is so touching, have been married for 39 years, still love the man I married. Being alone throughout life is very, very sad Everyone needs love and sharing that love with someone.
