Just another interpration any of these can be right but its not really about that its about how we feel when we hear it that's why music is such a great thing it make us think tells stories helps and even if the lyrics can have a thousand meanings and interprataions there is no doubt that you still like the song for whatever reason it is. Even in classical music you hear it and make your own feelings to that piece. Its a great song atr is a great band :)
