I think he does want to do those activites because he knows that those activites are just destruction. We create all those activities (destruction) because we are affraid to look at ourself. Most of the activies that he does not want to do in this song are activities that will not help you in your spiritual growth, such as party, drinking, drugs, s** ect. He is tired of doing those repeated activities but did not take him to his happiness. Because happiness is not outside us, our happiness is inside ourself.
He just want to stay in bed doing nothing except quieting his mind and think about his life, maybe he is doing his meditation in bed?
