This is what Allison wrote on the comment section on YouTube under her song. She's explaining the meaning of her song. "Hi Andy, I wrote this song about a recurring dream I used to have. I eventually realized that I wasn't really running from my mother but from my fear that my life would be like hers. My mom and I were very close, but she had a very difficult and painful and sometimes I was afraid that I would follow too closely in her footsteps."

Was why she was always running from Mother
A lot of times, children who grow up with a neglective/alcoholic/abusive parent try not to think that there's anything wrong with their family. The girl probably didn't want to think that her mother was being bad, but something inside of her told her to get away, and she can't place what it is. Therefore, she doesn't know why she's running from her mother.

The girl hasn't been a good person and has sinned because either she's been literally running from her mother and she's been on the road by herself, and when you're in that situation, sometimes theft and selling yourself is the only way to get around. Or she's been affected by her mother, who maybe was an alcoholic or abusive, and has turned into a person just like her mother.
