It's really hard to let go of our feelings when we experience breakups or being rejected by someone we love but sometimes its best to let go for the sake of that person who we love, even though you've been through so much with him/her. It's because the heart of the song says that you still love her but for his/her sake you need to force yourself to let go your feelings and move on because the more you hang on with your feelings, the more that person gets hurt and that includes yourself.
