This song is about a man with split personalities. In his "evil" form, he got angry at his girlfriend/fiancée and killed her, then afterwards has no idea of what happened and goes seeking out the killer. All the while as he searches, there is a small voice in his head telling him that he is the murderer, but he actively ignores and denies it. It gets to the point where he realises that it's him, but is still in denial, so he drowns himself to drown the killer not realising that he's drowning himself.
