I think Election Day is about the rise of the Antichrist in the world.
"We're sacred and bound to suffer the heatwave" is a reference to the book of Revelations, when the Devil and the Antichrist will be bound and thrown into the lake of fire.
"Hi guys, by the way, are you aware you're being illegal? It's making your savior behavior look evil" The antichrist is supposed to be a very charismatic figure who will fool the world into thinking he is good, but in reality is from the devil and craves worship. The antichrist will declare himself God in the middle of his seven year reign.
