I've wondered the same thing, since it's so frequently played on Christian radio stations. The only thing I've been able to glean from reading the lyrics, since I can't understand all of them in the recording, is it refers to search for God, and anticipates Christ's return. I'd be thrilled to know the writer's intent.

It has become increasingly clear to me that at the cross, every aspect of the character of God, His holiness, His righteousness, His justice, His wrath, His love, His mercy, His grace, all converged at one point in time, accomplishing our redemption. Between this awareness and the song, Mary Did You Know, This Christmas I was in a nearly constant state of worship. It's too big to put into words, but thank you for this song that sums up the purpose of Christ's coming so well.
