My friend did a cover of this song once. She doesn't believe in god, or at least doesn't trust him. Shes only 14, but she's been in and out of abusive relationships. And when she sang this song, I realized how fortunate I really am. I have a God who I believe loves me, great parents. And it just makes me sad to see her suffer with herself, trying to accept who she is because of what she has done. I watch her fall down the deep end every day, and its really heartbreaking. I wish she could forgive herself and accept God. And I know if she did, it would be the difference between broken and whole. This song will always make me think of her.
