Actually, what it means is that he will not give up his fight against his condition. He has a disorder called Wet Brain that causes loss of short term memory and is caused by the lack of the ability to absorb vitamin B1. His was caused from alcohol abuse and he has stated now that he wishes he never touched the stuff, and never will again. And this song represents the struggle within himself to overcome his condition and also to never again bow to the pressure of drinking.
