I don't think that Mr. Waters was referring to a specific event or happening, I think he was trying to describe the chaotic, tangled interaction a genius/madman has with a world that insists that its interpretation is the correct one, yet he knows better, or at least holds to that belief as a bedrock to "his" sanity. IMHO (Anyone that asserts to themselves &/or others that they've never felt a little bit "crazy" or had crazy thoughts is either moronic, or a deceived deceiver... no offense meant.)
