In 1973 Gregg Allman released his solo album, "Laid Back". It became my favorite that year, and realizing there wasn't a song on it titled "Laid Back", I was inspired to write this song. I tried to capture the feel and mood of the album, as if it was to be included there and would so fit. I held it back for years from other artists, hoping to run into Gregg and he would record it. As it happened, it turned out that it was Greggs son Michael who recorded it, and I had the pleasure of producing the session. It was also on my self produced second cd, Outlaws Lament. It has been with me for over thirty years, and remains a staple in my live show to this day. Sonny T
