My interpretation: I do not believe it has to deal directly with cheating, but rather with being two-faced about intentions with new partners. The singer is cavalier about jumping into new relationships, but non-committal. Because of this, it causes much strife for this new girl who appears to have fallen for him. "I think that I like you...but something bugs me 'bout the way you lick your envelopes, so-" He is interested in her, but he is unable to reciprocate her feelings. He looks for excuses to leave, something as miniscule as the way she licks her envelopes is reason for him to depart. This is reinforced by the chorus: "Two time, stay friends, problem that you can't defend." He wants to exit the relationship, the excuse he uses is so plain that his new friend is unable to respond in a way that can convince him. Based on the following lyrics, it is also not the first time he's done it. "Hands up, feel okay, whose heart could I break today?" The upbeat tone but somber lyrics point to the singer being aware of this damaging behavior, yet nevertheless consigned to proceed as though it is simply his nature. This also seems to be referenced in the second verse in a confusing, roundabout way. "Put me in your pocket, chew the way out." She believes he is now hers, yet he is committed to escape. "Oh man, was that your last piece of gum? But we both wanted some!" This lyric is confusing, but the gum being taken appears to reference their romance, both himself and the relationship as a whole. The singer was her last piece, she has no one else to go to. "But we both wanted some (the romance)," to which he responds, "I know, and you can get in the hole too." She can share a sense of loss as he departs. "ER, what can you say? I never read the package anyway." He is flippant about his behavior, not acknowledging the damage he causes by his actions.
