Although literally about his Mum, the links to his Christian roots and the Blessed Virgin Mary, is too strong to ignore. Even Lennon mocked in the album, "and now hark the herald angels come", as he saw with its reference to Mary and the organ, a hymn-like quality to it. Mary the Mother of God, is referred to by Catholics as Our Lady Seat of Wisdom, and if Paul McCartney came from the Catholic side of Liverpool, he would have known this title, as most Catholics do. I do find it quite strange that Paul was so sad during "Let It Be" album. He had just married the woman who has been the love of his life, his true love, Linda. I wonder what she thought of him singing of how hard his life was just as he married her?! But it was a time of great change and arguments with the band members over money. And in feeling guidance in a dream, this too has a biblical root to Mary, whose husband Joseph was told in a dream to marry Mary, as she had got pregnant by a miracle. I often think Paul has a "public" version he says to people and then a private one. "Hey Jude" is I think about John, but he maintains publicly it is about John's son, Julian.
