I don't see anything about a cat in the song either.
Maybe someone was just trying to be "amusing" since it's sung by CAT Stevens.
I, too, though, wish people would let it be.
It's one of the most beautiful interfaith hymns I've ever seen.
I love it's allusions to G-d's creating the world and the Garden of Eden and
How everything is His.
