I think it's trying to say something like "You've been living life your own way, and you're not getting the results you could be getting. You are warned by people to change your ways, but you don't believe you should. In fact, you think they're naive and stupid for thinking such a thing. Then, suddenly you meet God and start watching what he does and who He is and you finally figure out 'I can't go on without You' And until you figure that out and are born again, you are "walking dead. " I don't know. You can never be too sure what these people were thinking when they decided to put pen(cil) to paper. But this is what I think it means.
