The striving to understand life leaves man, in the end, knowing that life is not something that can be understood, but rather experienced. But because we are material creatures we construct ideas about reality out of our insecure necessity in order to manuvere our way through. Epistemologically it is impossible to know everything, thus we are left staring from our protective pinnacle of reason into the void of the unknown.
