I change my idea about this song. I do agree with londonirish about him being of a Neasden decent & him being a cabbage sellsmen, but he was a partime gigilo who got to old and couldn't get it up and he used to rock Mrs. Peter's World for a price of course. Then one day Mrs. Peters was "calling his name"{ if you know what I mean } and he snapped that's when he realized & he realized that "his castles stand Upon pillars of salt, pillars of sand". Try to argue with that.
