It speaks to the exquisite joy of new love and continues as it addresses enduring love. The metaphors are incredibly erotic, reminiscent of the Song of Solomon and passages from the Karma Sutra. The second stanza is lovely; reminds me of a beautiful line from one of the Romantic poets-"a thing of beauty is a joy forever". When I hear this, I'm immediately brought back to the time when I first fell in love. I relive that euphoric feeling of joy and remember irrationally feeling that no two people ever loved or were so closely connected. Our sweet memories never die and should be cherished for what they meant to us. My love later died (literally and figuratively) so what stanza 6 (I can't be contented...") suggests to me is that love endures (its memory) but also that it can come again as it did for me many years later. Our yesterdays are precious but every day is a new beginning where we are privileged to create new memories. -"Today is my moment and now is my story." Nothing is ever lost; everything we've experienced has brought each of us to where we are today.
