He got a letter from a woman he had loved and he tried to do the right thing by trying to find her and marrying her and give the child a father. No one would listen to him until they thought he was doing something really bad, then they didn't listen at all, just threw him in jail. He spent his whole life searching for the woman and his daughter and died without finding either one. So sad.
