In my opinion, the man couldn't forget the woman even if they've broken up. I think the woman thinks the same thing, except she's doing it by lying to him and dating another guy to forget him. But he won't give up and will keep trying until she gets her back. Also, this is one of my favorite songs. It has a good melody and the words touched me.
