This song was written after an awards show at which both Taylor and John Mayer (having broken up some months before) ended up in the same room at an after party and wouldn't speak to each other. Well Taylor wanted to, but being the shy conventional girl she is wouldn't initiate the conversation and mayer being the jerk he is wouldn't accknowledge her existence. So Taylor went home and wrote her feeling in this song. The great thing about Taylor Swift (besides being one of Gods true Angles on earth) is that these hurtful experiences she has are put into songs that everyone can relate to so in essences she is helping so many people. She is a real gift to all of us.
