I've been listening to this song since I left home for university a month ago. It's helped me to cope with being away from my parents, especially my dad for longer than I've ever been before. I know it's not the same as my dad leaving home, but I am now a long way away from him, as I'm in Newcastle and he's in Cambridge. My father has always been a good man and I didn't realise how much I'd miss him, so that's how the lyrics relate to me.
Daddy's Gone is an excellent song and I love the way Alan Mcgee sings in his Glaswegian accent.
