High ranking officals in the Tsarist goverment lured Rasputin to a dinner/meeting. However Rasputin did not know that infact they where going to kill him that night.

When certain individuals within the Tsarist goverment discovered what Rasputins true intenstions where they quickly set a plot to have him assassinated in order to stop him gaining more power over the Tsarina and the goverment.

In September 1915 Tsar Nicholas II left Petrograd to become commander-in-chief of the Russian army. He left his wife, Tsarina Alexandra, in charge of the country in his absence. However the Tsars only son, Alexei, had a severe illness and to help heal him the Tsarina asked Grigori Rasputin to cure him. After helping Alexei Rasputin help Alexandra with the government. Unknown to her he had his own agenda.
