Okie dokie, first off, it's not by nlt.
It is however by Travis Garland (of nlt) who wrote the piece and sings it. It wasn't written for him, it was written as a demo for someone else (a female artist obviously).
But the meaning is quite literal. It's a beautiful song about a woman who has to say goodbye to someone that she loves because they've drifted away and there relationship changed.
It's really one of my favorite songs right now, and I'm guessing for a lot of you, the second you hear it, you'll feel the same.
