Hm, in my opinion this song is about the beauty of enrapture; being completely indebted, entwined, and consumed into another human being. Love most likely.
Well beyond that underlying, this song would also mainly involve a motif involving abandonment. Unanswered, wide open abandonment. Taking the previous affections and showing the question and impact of someone who left without a word and only needing but one solace.
But because there is no way to get the truth, The Answer, one is forced to doubt the person they once knew and loved; setting them face to face with a loneliness they can hardly comprehend.
