Meaning
The song sounds almost jovial, like there's nothing really going on with her and her partner. They physically abuse each other, and yet I wont pretend to think that the abuse is actually physical. Maybe a game of t** for tat? Scratch my back I scratch yours, Claw my eyes out and I'll claw yours. They're involved in this struggle against each other, while wanting to end the pain they still want each other. They contribute to their own undoing. "Then I set fire to our bed" This line is significant. So much that the intepretation depends on the person listening to the song. The bed might be the relationship, and yet the fire might not be fire in itself but passion. This could constitute making love after a violent battle :) That's my interpretation! : p
